Trillium Engineering’s new headquarters at Hood River’s Waucoma Center reflects a bold new chapter for the company, designed by SUM to project innovation, precision, and a global outlook within a historic warehouse setting.

Originally a fruit storage facility, the building posed significant challenges, including low ceilings, minimal daylight, and uneven concrete floors. SUM transformed the space into a world-class office featuring executive suites, engineering and R&D spaces, and light manufacturing all while honoring the structure’s industrial character.

A linear wood grille ceiling, inspired by Trillium’s long-distance imaging technology, anchors the design. Polished concrete, residential-style carpet, and oversized felt light fixtures strike a balance between technical performance and visual warmth. The result is a future-facing workplace rooted in Hood River, ready for what’s next.
